Hi I'm Tracey
I live just outside a small rural town called Calliope, in bush land in Central Queensland, Australia.
I love where I live and find inspiration in my surroundings. I paint my impressions of the natural wonder I live in and also draw on my experiences, my family and my adventures.
I left school in grade 11 with no real direction or idea in what I wanted to do, but I always had a passion for creating, and I spent time learning macrame, ceramics and pottery.
I am married with 4 children and 5 grandchildren.
In 2012 I faced the challenge of overcoming Breast Cancer and while I was recovering I found my true passion drive and soul with painting.... I painted myself well mentally and spiritually. In 2018 my cancer had metastasised to my liver and therefore making me take yet another look at life.
I find making art an exciting and spiritual journey, that allows me to reach deep inside my soul and inner self.
I have been developing my skills by attending numerous art workshops, I feel these have truly helped me define who I am as an artist. I am inspired by artists Susan Farrell and Jenni Kelly who have taught me how to use a host of different techniques and mediums to layer my artwork. I love the use of colour to bring into my pieces creating vibrancy and energy. I have hosted many workshops and see myself doing many more to both share my knowledge and to further my own artistic accomplishments and advancement.
